Situation:

SNHU needed authentic, mission-aligned storytelling that highlights how students succeed through support systems, accessibility, flexible learning options, and community - across campus, online, and competency-based programs.

Obstacles:

  • Student experiences are complex and often deeply personal. Stories must be accurate, empathetic, accessible, and tailored for multiple internal audiences (12,000+ SNHU employees and partners) while aligning with SNHU's brand, tone, and strategic priorities.

Actions / Deliverables:

I write human-centered student stories and create full communications packages for each article that include:

  • Written article for The Source (SNHU intranet)

  • Supporting graphics and photos

  • A headline + teaser + graphic for The Weekly (email newsletter)

These stories spotlight themes like family support, mental health, first-generation success, accessibility, flexible pathways, military transitions, and belonging.

Results:

  • These stories deepen institutional understanding of student realities, strengthens SNHU's mission-driven identity, and provides high-impact content for internal communications. These stories consistently resonate across the university, helping employees connect with learners and reinforcing SNHU's commitment to accessible, flexible, student-centered education, including powerful narratives like Justin Palmer's, which demonstrates how determination and adaptive support make higher education possible.

Platforms & Tools:
