From Impact Magazine: Where Access Becomes Belonging

Published for SNHU on 7/7/2026 - Alyssa Taranto

Access to education opens doors – but belonging is what helps students walk through them with confidence. In the latest Impact Magazine feature, “Where Access Becomes Belonging,” students share how college access programs have shaped their academic journeys and helped them build community, purpose and a sense of possibility.

The story highlights programs like Breakthrough Manchester College-Bound and MY TURN, which provide academic enrichment, mentorship and support for highly motivated, under-resourced students. Their experiences show how access becomes opportunity, and how belonging can change the trajectory of a young person's life.

Check Out Last Month's Story of Purpose and Possibility

SNHU students and alumni continue to make an impact across their communities. In recent Impact feature “No Stright Lines: The Journey of Mark Haddad ‘01 ’11G” alumnus Mark Haddad shared how his SNHU education helped him find direction and purpose, leading him from academic uncertainty to the U.S. Army Special Forces and a global career in technology and storytelling.

Programs like Breakthrough Manchester College-Bound and MY TURN build on that same foundation. The goal is to help students discover what's possible through mentorship, academic support and a strong sense of belonging.
